First Day of Fourth Grade

Today is the first day of fourth grade for my Prophet and D.K. We had croissant bread pudding and ice cream for breakfast to celebrate the first day of school. I figured ice cream's not any worse than most of the cereals that most kids eat. Since my kids never get to eat those nasty things, I figured ice cream for breakfast on the first day of school would be a treat. They all came to the table and saw the little scoop of ice cream sitting next to their bread pudding and thought I'd lost my mind. It was fun listening to them. Now, we've declared bread pudding and ice cream our official first day of school breakfast.

Bee doesn't start kindergarten until Wednesday morning. They are doing a staggered start so all the kids aren't there at once any time this week. I'll stay with her on Wednesday and then on Thursday she'll go by herself. She's not the least bit scared about going. She's too excited to be scared. She's a morning kid. She'll only be in school for 2 1/2 hrs a day. Hardly time to get anything done, you'd think. Her teacher seems very nice, and I've heard good things about her, so here's hoping it's a good year.

The boys classes are actually going to be together this year... one big class of 41 kids. Sounds cool and crazy at the same time. Their teachers will be leaving the wall between their classrooms open at all times and co-teaching everything. I'm assuming they'll still be having their specials at separate time. I wouldn't think that music, art, and p.e. teachers would want 41 kids at the same time, but who knows! I do know that that's alot of birthday treats to make... or do they still do birthday treats in fourth grade? Are they too big for that now? That's so sad if they are! I'll have to email their teachers and find out. So, anyway, I'm a little nervous about them being in the same class. We've always wanted them in separate classes because of their different learning abilities and styles. Please pray that it'll all work out.

Off for a busy day of shopping and laundry. Later!

They're so cute!! I can't wait to go school shopping with my chicky. I remember how fun that was. It's so cool that Bee's school allows the little ones to come gradually throughout the week. Our Pre-K kids are in school ALL DAY LONG with NO.NAP. ! Can you imagine? I think that's dumb. Can't wait to see Bee's first day of school outfit. She always has the cutest clothes. :)
