I love it when people want to make nasty comments on my blog, but don't bother to leave their name!! Fun, fun, fun!! I'd just like to say thank you to the anonymous person who left me the nice comment two posts ago, you made my day!!

Isn't it odd ? I read your post about medical bills and so on and my first thought was " Gosh! Poor you to have the burden of those bills. " My second thought was " I hope the person who was sick is ok now ". At no point did I think anything close to what "anonymous " wrote - and my dad was a doctor. I may lay myself open to equally lovely comments, but I wish you well and I think you should just ignore comments from people who don't even leave their name.We all know that our blogs are just our opinions, our way of getting stuff off our chests, and on the whole the blogging community is very supportive. I love your blog. Keep on posting just as you always have.Oh, and I hope you enjoyed the pumpkin patch !! S

Wow. I read that comment just now and thought that whoever wrote that was awfully unkind. Little do they know what it was like for you to pay over $100,000 in bills off just to get sucked into more debt thanks to insurance companies. Commenters like that should just stay quiet if they don't like what you write. Didn't their mother ever tell them, "if you can't say something nice, shut your trap?!" Okay, so the last part of that was revised because I'm just a little defensive on your behalf. But still. How unkind.

I am more apt to blame the insurance companies than the doctors for the rising costs, but will say that the cycle is just a deadly one that can only lead to bankruptcy for just about everyone involved. This is why I will shout it until I have lost my voice that the USA needs to completely revamp their system, and they NEED universal healthcare. I know Canada isn't perfect, but at least people like you aren't struggling with gargantuan bills. And lest anyone think universal healthcare means "free", that is not true. We do pay for a portion, just not nearly the portion the USA pays.

And, with the USA's population of doctors, you guys could have a fabulous system. Our biggest issues here in Canada result from having a smaller population of doctors, which thus requires us to sometimes wait. (The waits are not nearly as bad as some would like you to believe though.)
