That Just Figures

Okay, so remember how we got Bee the fancy, twist-up, expensive, Crayola markers and equally awesome, twist-up, erasable expensive Crayola crayons for her birthday? Well, I've been throwing away all the little bits of crayon and lidless markers as I've found them around the house this week. I told the boys that I'd buy them some new stuff just for them to keep in their room and not to share with their little sister (by the way did I mention that she just got brand new, fancy crayons and markers for her birthday last week... yah, I thought so). So I bought the boys the 48 pack of Crayola crayons ( I feel abusive if I make them use the cheaper Roseart crayons), a package of Roseart colored pencils, and a package of Roseart markers. Fairly cheap, but all do the job and have already been used by the boys alot.

This being said.... which markers and crayons do you think Bee insists on playing with? Yep, the boys.... the much cheaper, much plainer, but has a pink marker included with them, boys stuff!! That just figures doesn't it!!

Note to self.... they don't need the fancy stuff... go with the simple and they'll be happy!!

Hee hee...we bought Emma some twistables and she systematically emptied them all and broke the crayons inside into bits. Dollar store crayons suit her fine.

I swear we need to go back to the time when we were little and tinkled pink to play with wrapping paper and the box it came in before we discovered there was another part of the gift.

The guy who I worked with in nursery yesterday has 6 kids. He said his first had all the toys from being the first grandchild, but his favorite was an empty tic-tac-box.

We returned Baby Bear's LeapFrog Learning Table (her big Christmas gift). It had a short in it or something, sucked the life out of batteries in less than 2 weeks. They were out of stock for an exchange, so we decided to buy something that doesn't require batteries... a xylophone/piano combo thing. She likes it better than she liked the table!

You are So-o-o right about Crayola versus Roseart crayons.

And save your crayon bits...you can sprinkle them over a coloring book butterfly's wing, cover with wax paper and melt with a warm iron...so pretty.

And thanks for the prayers for us on our trip. That was so sweet (and very appreciated)!
