Bee

Bee had two doctor's appointments at the Cleveland Clinic on Monday. That place is huge. I felt like I was in an airport while trying to find our way around a couple of times. There are people in red sport-coats all over to help you find your way around. It runs like a well-oiled machine around there. Anyway, her first appointment was with a neurosurgeon to discuss what we are going to do about the swelling on her medulla. The dr. looked at her last two MRIs and can't decide if they look any different from each other. So basically he's not sure if the second MRI shows that the spot has changed or grown at all. He's going to repeat the MRI in three months to see if there's been a change or not. The whole thing scares me, but right now he's says that at this point she's not a surgical candidate. If I don't think about what could happen, I'm fine. If I do then I get very scared of what her future could hold.

The second appointment was with a neurologist to discuss her neurofibromatosis. The two main ways that her NF has shown itself is thru optic glioma (tumors around the optic nerves) and scoliosis. So, we are off to see a new opthamologist and an orthopedic specialist within the next few weeks.

I will be sure to keep Bee and your family in my prayers! Our daughter had a scare a couple of months ago, and I know how horrifying that was. Bee is such a gorgeous little girl, and I know that God is going to take care of her! Keep your head up. :) You're always in my prayers, promise.

I can only imagine how scary that all must be. I think that it is one of those times where trying (and trying, and trying) not to think about it is necessary to your sanity though. Praying for her and your whole family as always.

Thanks for the recall info. We have at least 7 items on that list. The maximum number of items they would let me claim was 6... go figure.

So, thanks for the heads up. We miss you all dearly.
