A Little Freedom Allowed

I just let my boys walk over to the little grocery store in town by themselves to get a pack of gum. It felt wierd, but this is the place to let them have a little freedom. I was riding over there all the time to get stuff at their age. Things just seem different now!! They're back and they're still alive. I can now relax!

Wow...what a huge milestone to hit! It seems so far away to me yet. Good for you for being strong enough!

The town I lived in when I was their age had a hardware store with penny candy for sale. We had to walk through neighbors' yards, down the street a short way, across the schoolyardand playground, and down another street some more to get there. I felt like such a big kid when I got to walk there with my brother or friends!

You hear and see so much on the news anymore that you'd have to be crazy not to worry about them.

I don't know how old they are, but it sounds like they're old enough..you're the best judge.
